A Shot or Two in the Arm-Vaccinations

As you prepare to travel to Namibia for World Conference 2011, make sure you’re up-to-date on you routine immunizations:  Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus (DPT) and Polio.

In addition to your routine immunizations, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) currently recommends additional vaccinations for travel to Namibia.  These include:  Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Malaria.

For a current list of CDC recommendations, visit: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/namibia.aspx#top

To find local Travel Medicine Clinics that can provide the appropriate immunizations, visit: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/content/travel-clinics.aspx.

If you’re planning on traveling to other African nations before or after World Conference, check the CDC page for that country to determine if you need additional vaccinations.

If you are not a U.S. Citizen, your country may have different immunization requirements.  Check with your local Disease Control entity or travel medicine clinic for your country specific requirements.
